Trina Biography

Katrina Laverne Taylor was born on December 3, 1978, better known as by her stage name Trina, is an American rapper, songwriter.Trina first gained notoriety in 1998 with her appearance with Trick Daddy’s “Nann nigga”. Since then Trina has made a name for herself as a female MC & has released 5 studio albums. Trina’s mother is African American & her father is Dominican. Trina’s parents were separated while she was growing up, so she lived in both the Liberty City housing projects in Miami & the upper-class Pembroke Pines of Florida. Her and her youngest sister (Brittany Taylor) graduated from Miami Northwestern High School,were she had been a majorette and were she went for her restate licenses in 1996. The lead single from her fifth studio album, “That’s My Attitude”, was released in October 2009 but failed to chart. Because of this, the song was dubbed a buzz single. A mixtape, Amazin’ (The Mixtape), was released in November 2009 in promotion of her fifth studio album. Another mixtape, The Definition Of A Million Dollar Girl, was released in January 2010 following the release of her fifth studio album’s lead single. Nude pictures of Trina leaked in February 2010, & Trina appeared on The Mo’Nique Show in March 2010 discussing her new record album, fragrance line, & performed her hit single Million Dollar Girl. Trina’s fifth studio album, Amazin’, was released on May 4, 2010. Because of this album, Trina is only the 2nd female rapper to release a 5th studio album (the other being Missy Elliott). Amazin’ debuted at number 13 on the Billboard 200, number four on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, number two on the Top Rap Albums chart and #1 on the Billboard Independent Albums chart. The record album sold 33,938 records in its 1st week and has gone on to sell 420,000, and still selling records since its release.

Trina Bio

The album was introduced by the official lead single, “Million Dollar Girl”, featuring Diddy & Keri Hilson, in January 2010. The single was mildly successful, as it reached number sixty-one on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and number twenty on the Rap Songs chart. A second single, “White Girl”, featuring Flo Rida & Git Fresh, was released in June 2010 but failed to chart. “My Bitches” was released as the record album’s 3rd rap single in August 2010 & has failed to chart while “Always”, featuring Monica, was released in August 2010 as the record album’s third urban single, & has reached number forty-2 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, but has failed to chart otherwise. The 4th single will be “I Want It All”, also featuring Monica, & will be released in October or November 2010. Mark Holiday created official requested club remix on her single Million Dollar Girl.
