Ben Stiller Biography

Benjamin Edward “Ben” Stiller was born on November 30, 1965, is an American comedian, actor, writer, film director, and producer. He is the son of veteran comedians and actors Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara. After starting his acting career w/ a play, Stiller wrote several mockumentaries, & was offered 2 of his own shows, both entitled The Ben Stiller Show. He began acting in cinemas, & had his directorial debut with Reality Bites. Throughout his career he has since written, starred in, directed, &/or produced over 50 movies including Heavyweights, There’s Something About Mary, Meet the Parents, Zoolander, Dodgeball, and Tropic Thunder. In addition he has had multiple cameos in music videos, TV shows, & films.

Stiller is a member of the comedic acting brotherhood informally known as the Frat Pack. His cinemas have grossed more than $2.1 billion domestically United States & Canada, w/ an average of $73 million per film. Throughout his career, he has received several awards & honors including an Emmy Award, several MTV Movie Awards, and a Teen Choice Award. Stiller has several upcoming films in 2010, Stiller will again portray Gaylord ‘Greg’ Focker in Little Fockers, a sequel to both Meet the Parents & Meet the Fockers. Stiller had planned to voice a character in MegaMind, but later dropped out while still remaining a producer. Stiller, along w/ Tom Cruise, is connected to a comedy adaptation of The Hardy Boys entitled The Hardy Men. It has also been revealed he will star alongside Will Arnett and Katherine Heigl in Buggs P.I. voicing the hero Tommy Buggs which is set to be released in 2011. Stiller will produce a Yahoo! web series starring his parents, Jerry Stiller & Anne Meara. The show will be launched by the end of the year 2010.
